Robert Philip Pilkinton Jr.~’Bob’ of Blissfield, MI passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024, in their new home in Lake Orion, Michigan, at the age of 72, surrounded by his wife and three daughters.
Bob was a loving husband to his wife Carol and an amazing father to Tracy (Joe) Zappella, Tina (Rick) Traicoff, Olivia (Carl Skonieczny) Pilkinton. He was a grandfather to Kilia Lewerenz, Keegan Lewerenz, Keilani Lewerenz, Andrew Traicoff and Alex Traicoff. He was a devoted brother to Jan (Mo McGowan) Pilkinton, Karen Fletcher, Jim (Connie) Pilkinton, (the late Kevin) Pilkinton, Judie (Dave) Barrett, Keith (Kevin Kohn) Pilkinton, and Jennie (John) Buechele. He also cherished all of his nieces and nephews and his most recent dog Archer.
Bob was someone who lived life to the fullest. He began his adult life by serving our country in the United States Army from 1972-1976 as a Postal Clerk in Germany. When he returned home from the military, he became an auto mechanic. He worked at several Ford dealerships up until he retired. His love for cars also became his hobby which he spent many weekends at Milan Dragway racing his Ford Mustang’s. Later in life, his days consisted of spending time with his brother Jim continuing to work on cars at his shop.
Most of all he enjoyed hanging out with his friends and being with his family. His treasures in life were his three daughters. He will be forever loved and missed by many.
A celebration of life for Bob will be held on April 12, 2025 at American Legion Post 468, 5580 Centennial Rd. Sylvania, Ohio 43560. Guest can gather from 1PM to 5 PM and military funeral honors will be held at 2 PM.
