Ronald Chester Hritzkowin, age 90, of Rochester Hills, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Ronald was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 5, 1933 to John and Mary Hritzkowin. He graduated from Bentley High School in Livonia, MI before earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Detroit. Ronald and his beloved wife Lorraine (nee Williams) married on September 7, 1963 and only parted after her passing in 2013. During his career, Ronald worked as a plant manager for Detrex Corporation, Chemcentral, and Etsol Products. He was a very active member in his community. During college he was a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity. His love of skiing pushed him to become President of the Detroit Metro Ski Council and a member of the Viking Ski Club. His love for his family and his children led him to take on the roles of Cub Scout Master and PTA President. Ronald was also a member of the Livonia Elks and Troy Elks, and as a devout Christian attended St. Michaels Catholic Church in Southfield. During his life he proudly served his country as Private First Class in the United States Army, filling the role of accountant for his battalion.
He is survived by his children Kevin Hritzkowin, Karey (Robert) Rinnan, and Keith (Rebecca) Hritzkowin; grandchildren Drew, Seamus, Leamington, and Grayson; and sister Joyce McFadden.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lorraine and his brother Edward Hritzkowin.
A memorial visitation for Ronald will be held Friday, May 3, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, Michigan 48307, followed by a memorial service at 6:00 PM.
