Ronald James Strong

STRONG, Ronald J., age 70, of Rochester Hills, MI, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2015 following a period of declining health. The son of James R. and Jane Park Strong, Ron was born on July 2, 1945 in Towanda, PA. He graduated from Towanda Area High School in 1963 and Goldy-Beacom College, Wilmington, DE in 1965. He then received a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting from the Baltimore College of Commerce. On June 14, 1969 he married Susan Jane Talada. Together they moved with Ron’s career in accounting with Sylvania Corporation in Towanda and Warren, PA; GTE Sylvania in Lynnfield, MA; retiring from AAR Corporation in Livonia, MI. Ron was a member of the American Society of Accountants, the Elks Club, and St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Susan; brother in-law James R. (Janice) Talada and Elaine T. (Les) Sheridan; aunt, Berdena Strong; special cousins Darlene Fatula, Donna Koenig, Dawn McClure; David Park (Betsy), Gail Park and their mother Cora Park; nephew, Reed Talada (Kathryn). Ron was predeceased by his parents and special cousin, Ralph Park. Memorial Gathering 3 – 4 p.m., December 5, 2015 at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W University Dr., Rochester, MI.
