Sandy was born April 10th, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan, one of four girls. At a young age her family moved to Rochester Hills, MI where she lived the majority of her life. In 1963 she met the love of her life, Harry Warholak, at Heart of the Hills Swim Club. They married in 1965 in Dearborn, MI at Greenfield Village. Sandy and Harry recently celebrated 57 years of marriage.
Growing up in Michigan Sandy worked for the school system for 27 years and also kept the books for Harry’s business, Warhoops. She retired from the Rochester Hills School system in 2010 and in 2012 they moved to Roswell, Georgia to be closer to family.
Sandy believed in God, her country and most of all her family. She had a deep love for the USA and all things that made/make “America Great.” Despite recent medical challenges, she remained positive and fought every day to see the good in all things. Her spirit and enduring love continue to inspire us all.
Sandy is survived by her loving husband Harry Warholak; two children, daughter Leeza (Mitch) Hanson; son Jason (Julie) Warholak; three sisters, Brenda Hamby, Karen Scally, and Cindy Pennanen; and six grandchildren, Haley Warholak, Jordan Warholak, Hannah Hanson, Lukas Hanson, Sierra Warholak and Kelsey Warholak.
A celebration of Sandy’s life is planned for Saturday, January 6 in Roswell, Georgia.
