

Tom was born the son of Francis and Mary Adeline (McDonald) Brown on February 21, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Austin Catholic Preparatory High School in Detroit, class of 1957. Tom earned his bachelor’s degree from Villanova University and his law degree from the University of Michigan. He married Barbara Farrell in 1973 and they raised their family in Rochester Hills. Tom had a distinguished career at Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1997 as Vice President of Global Labor Relations.
Tom loved his family and enjoyed life with the same passion he put into his work. He retired early to enjoy boating, golfing, and entertaining friends and family in Naples Florida. He was a wonderful father and grandfather.
Tom is survived by his wife Barbara; children Robert Fredal, Tracy (Frank) Houttekier, Michael Fredal, Thomas (Terri) Brown Jr., Wendy (John) Meurer, Kelly (Richard) Willis, Patricia (David) Lanfear; twenty grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; Tom was predeceased by his parents; and his brother Ronald Brown.
Tom’s family will welcome all to a visitation on Thursday December 22, 2022 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 West University Drive in downtown Rochester, Michigan. A funeral mass will be held on Friday December 23rd at 11 a.m. (instate 10:30 a.m.) at St. Andrew Catholic Church, located at 1400 Inglewood Avenue in Rochester. Burial will be private at Christian Memorial Gardens West cemetery at a later date.
