

Hager, Thomas Campbell, age 51, of Rochester Hills, died October 23, 2014, at William Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan, after a short illness. He was born April 28, 1963, in Mendota, Illinois, to Donald and Janet (Woolley) Hager. He graduated with his Bachelor's degree from Purdue University and received his Master's degree from Lawrence Technological University. On September 4, 1999, he was united in marriage to Deanna L. Steckert and they were blessed with their children Mary Louisa "Louie" and Zachary Thomas. He went on to work in Program Management for the automotive industry. A member of the Bayview Yacht Club, he loved sailing, along with his playing rugby with the Detroit Rugby Club. He and his family were active members of St. Paul's United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Praise Band; Tom took great joy in actively coaching his children in all their sports for the last nine years. Besides his wife, children and his parents, he is survived by his sister Susan (Kent) Cleveland, niece and nephew Hillary and Ian Gonsorek; his parents-in-law Robert J. and Sharon Steckert and his sister and brother-in-law, Deb (Gary) Burkett; niece Zoe Burkett, brother-in-law Steve Steckert, and brother-in-law John Steckert. Tom’s family will receive friends Saturday, November 1, 2014 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service celebrating his life from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 620 Romeo Street in Rochester. Rather than flowers, his family would greatly appreciate contributions in his name be directed to a fund being established to assist with his children's college expenses.
