WESLEY DURAND TOMLINSON, Jr. , age 85, of Rochester Hills, died November 20, 2018. Wesley was born on March 30, 1933 in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, son of the late Wesley, Sr. and Birdie Tomlinson. He graduated from Wauwatosa High School in 1951 and the graduated from Purdue University in 1955 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served in the U.S. Army and was employed with G.M. Chevrolet Division for 37 years, retiring in 1992. Wesley was an Elder at University Presbyterian Church where he was a member for 59 years. He was actively involved for over 40 years with the Rochester Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, formerly known as the Society for Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Singing. He also was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon as well as the Indian Guides. Wesley loved wilderness canoeing, snow and water skiing. He had a great love of music, and enjoyed playing the piano and trombone. He also was a car enthusiast and enjoyed wood working. Wesley is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ann B., whom he married on April 13, 1957 after they met while attending Purdue University. He is also survived by children Steven (Lou Ann) Tomlinson and Beth (Robert) LaBelle; grandchildren Sarah (Kevin) Kolcheck, Michael (Hannah) Tomlinson, Kathryn (Jacques) Dupuis, Cory LaBelle, and Joel LaBelle; great grandchildren Oliver, Theodore and Emmanuel; sister Mary Heleniak; and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be at 12p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at University Presbyterian Church 1385 S Adams Rd, Rochester Hills, MI. Visitation will be 11a.m. until time of service. Rev. Bob Sheldon officiating. Luncheon to follow, then procession to Mt. Avon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Barbershop Harmony Society or University Presbyterian Church.
