She was Homeroom Rep, Assistant Gym Leader, member of the school newspaper, the Italian Club and the Beta Chi Delta Sorority. Barbara graduated from Rochester Business Institute in 1954 after majoring in Stenography. She continued her athletic activities while at RBI and was also a member of the Newman Club which fostered the spiritual, intellectual and social interests of the Catholic students.
Barbara’s adult life revolved around her husband and her 5 children. She was a traditional stay-at-home mother and as her children grew, she volunteered heavily in their activities, often taking leadership roles that made these activities possible. Barbara was a Brownie Girl Scout Leader, gym teacher, and Lassie League Softball Coach.
When Barbara’s children grew up, she returned to full time work at the Monroe County Board of Elections until her retirement. This time of her life also saw her return to her own favorite activities. She was an avid and skilled bowler and softball player and enjoyed traveling with her friends.
