Margaret C. Busby

Margaret C. Busby of Canandaigua, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at age 101. Margaret, daughter of Edwin and Mary Childs, was born in Lyons, NY and was the oldest of five children. She graduated from Bloomfield High School with the class of 1932. Margaret married Harold Busby, Sr. on October 7, 1933. Margaret and Harold were longtime residents of Canandaigua, NY where they together were owners of Beacon Farm Market. The couple enjoyed wintering in Tavares, Florida each year. Margaret was an avid gardener; she also enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She loved animals, spending time with her family, and a good cup of tea.

Margaret is survived by her children, Dorothy Sheppard (Stanley, NY), Caryl Reynolds (Carr, CO), Virginia Outhouse (Apopka, FL), and Harold “Hal” Busby, Jr. and his wife Kate (Canandaigua, NY); 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister, Fern Rice (Rochester, NY); and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Busby, Sr.; sons-in-law, James Sheppard, Sr., Edward Reynolds, and Donald Outhouse; sisters, Virginia and Iris; and brother, Edwin.

The family invites you to join them for a memorial service on Thursday, November 5, 2015, at 6pm at the United Church of Canandaigua where Margaret was a longtime member.
