Mary Durso

Mary Durso of Rochester, passed away at home on Friday, March 29, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband, Marcy; brothers, John and George; and sister, Helen. Mary is survived by her children, Susanne (Tom) Verso, Dr. Raymon (Ann) Durso, and Dr. Vincent (Suzette) Durso; grandchildren, Katherine, Andrew, and Maryrachel; sister, Irene Span; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Homyak, Helen Holmes, and Alice Durso. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, friends, and her granddogs.

Mary was a very devoted mother. She believed deeply in her religious traditions and was a dedicated member of her church. She sang in the choir, enjoyed baking, and passed her love of reading along to her children. Together, her and Marcy retired in Leisuretowne, NJ and spent much of their time travelling.

Friends may call Tuesday, 4-7pm at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 855 Goodman St. South, followed by a Panikheda at 7pm. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, 8am at the church. Mary will be buried privately in Hometown, PA, near where she was born and raised. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the parish choir at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church.
