Peter Vaughan Chinnock

He was predeceased by his parents, A. Vaughan Chinnock (1909-1985) and Blanche Evelyn Chinnock (nee Fisher) (1911-1998), and his sister, Susan Mataruga (1943-2022).

He will be missed by his loving family, including his wife of 44 years, Frances A. O’Donnell Chinnock; daughters, Melissa Chinnock (Michael Steele), Sarah Gibson (Russ Gibson), and Jessica Huxley (Stephen Huxley); grandchildren, Aidan, Ava, and Aria Huxley and Cole Gibson; his beloved dog, Starr; his extended family and several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Peter graduated from Niagara Falls High School, and achieved an Associate’s degree in 1973 from Erie Community College. He was proud to receive his Bachelor’s degree in Management for the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2006. From 1973 to 2017 Peter worked at Whelpley & Paul Opticians.

Peter was a lifelong music lover, playing drums in dozens of bands in Western NY from the time he was a teenager, and his love for the Buffalo Sabres will live on in his family for generations to come.

Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, July 13th, from 5-7PM at the Alvah Halloran & Son Funeral Home, 2125 Chili Ave., Rochester, NY 14624. A memorial service will be held at 10:00AM, on Thursday, July 14th, at the Funeral Home.
