Alma Yvonne David

Alma Y. David, 91 of Tyner, Kentucky, formerly of Baden, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, November 14, 2014 at her residence. She was born August 6, 1923 in Kitzmiller, MD, daughter of the late Derfy and Lena Pearl (Pugh) Knotts. In her early years of employment she worked at the G.C. Murphy Store in Ambridge. Later, after returning to her native Maryland, she was employed at Bausch and Lomb.

Known affectionately as Yvonne or Bonnie, she was first and foremost all about the family. She was always involved in some activity that nurtured and supported her children and grandchildren. A woman of faith, and member of the United Methodist Church, she was an avid reader of her Bible.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: William David in 1974; her son: Joseph David, 1996; grandson: William David, 2003; brother: Kenneth “Buck” Knotts and sister: Donetta Beale.

Alma is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Jacqueline “Jackie” David and husband Gregory Davis, Tyner, KY; six grandchildren: Shannon Thames, Hendersonville, TN; Mary (Scott) Reynolds, Center Township; Jackie Thames, Hendersonville, TN; Sean (David) Flannigan, Center Township; Solomon David, Harrisburg, PA; Abraham David, Center Township; eight great granddaughters; two sisters: Wanitta Waybright, Keyser, WV; Vivian Dawson, Cumberland, MD, nieces nephews, extended family and friends.

Friends will be received on Thursday, November 20, 2014 from noon to 2 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester, (GPS 848 Sunflower Road, adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. immediately following the visitation.
