Was just thinking about Dan this week and wondering how his wife was getting on. Thoughts are with the family today. He was one of the good ones. 

The nagel family has been in my life for over 50 years...my heart is still in shock dan is gone. I    know he is in heaven rejoicing with thos e who are there. my thoughts and prayers go out to his dad A  rchie and A rchies wife...Sylvia and family...David and family and of course Elisia and Liz and familys.Dan had a past life at Park Gate Church that he loved and had dear friends that meant the world to him. thanks for the laughs...talks and fun times YOU WILL ALWAYS BE REMEBERED...WE LOVE YOU

Dan was one of the most genuine people I have ever met.  Just like his parents, he was a kind, loving soul who lived to serve the Lord.  I have countless fond memories of spending time with their family when I was young.  

You were a fine example Dan.  You will be dearly missed by everyone you touched.  

Dan has gone on ahead, to be with The Lord.  He will be missed here, but, we know, "that to be absent from the body, is to be present with The Lord."
I met Dan through my brother, Mike.  They were good friends, all through our growing up years, they even went off to the same college together.  Dan returned back to his hometown, and my brother stayed in Lynchburg, Virginia. 
I had the opportunity to become friends with Dan in a more direct friendship, that was a privilege.  Dan always inspired me to be closer to God.  Mostly, by the life that he lived, day by day.  
We were friends, and later, co-workers.  But most interesting, is that we were prayer partners, we shared some great requests and great "Answered Prayers" rejoicing together.  God always answers prayer,  however, a praying friend is the best kind of friend to have, here, this side of Heaven.  Dan was such a Friend, a Praying Friend.  I commented to a mutual friend, as we were remembering Dan, that, "Dan would read his Bible, like most other people would read their newspaper." 
Yes, Dan is already missed here, however, Dan will still inspire folks to walk close to God.  Dan lived out a life of walking close to God, may I follow his example. 
May God give His Comfort to Darleen, Liz & Elishia, and their Families, To Sylvia & David, and their Families, to Archie & Francis. God's Comfort to all of Dan's newest Family on Darleen's side.  Darleen, just know, that you brought great joy and happiness to Dan.

We were so sorry to hear of the loss of Danny. We will be praying for the family and know that the Lord desires to comfort us in our grief.  Clinging to His promise of eternal life and reuniting with loved ones is precious at times like this.

Dearest Dan (or as Uncle Charlie would say, “Danny Boy, oh Danny Boy”), 

We miss having your sweet spirit with us already. The Bible tells us, “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.” Truly, Dan had a pure heart! However, he would be the first to say his pure heart was not because of works of righteousness which he had done but because of God’s grace and mercy when He saved Dan. Dan, you showed your pure heart by the way you loved and served others. 

I was blessed to be Dan’s student teacher when he was in fifth grade. He showed his love and care by writing me a note inviting me to visit his church. When he introduced me to his parents, he did it with such love and pride. In fact, he said, “I wish my name was Archie because I want to be just like my dad.” 

That tender-hearted, sweet boy grew into a man always having that same character. He lived out the love God had bestowed on him. Dan, you were such an example to us in life and in the way you faced death. We take comfort in knowing that you are, in the words of one of your mom’s favorite hymns, now seeing your Savior “face to face.”

Dan and I were pretty close friends as teenagers. Went to the same schools from first grade thru graduation from Riverside H.S.  Went to the same church, worked at the same youth camp as teens. We even went off to Liberty University as Freshmen in the fall of 1974. He settled back in Beaver County, PA, and I settled in Lynchburg, VA.  Careers, families, adult responsibilities and the distance made it difficult to keep up with each other.  30  some years went by and thru Face Book we got back in touch. In 2007 I visited the Ellwood City area around the July 4th weekend and we ran the Ellwood Ledger 10 k race together.  We ran it again one other time.  I am glad I was able to visit with Dan on those occasions as well as a few church group reunions the past few summers.  I am certain Dan will be missed greatly by all who knew him.  I am also certain he is waiting for us in the Presence of Our Lord.
 

My husband, Patrick, and I met Dan through Darleen when they first started dating. We had the honor of helping with their wedding. What a great day of celebration. Dan was a quiet man with a tender heart and a huge love for the Lord. He always had a smile on his face. He was devoted to his children and grandchildren. But what impressed me the most was his love for my friend. He loved and cherished Darleen like no other in her life. He treated her like the precious treasure she is. They had big plans for a future together in missions serving others side by side. 
Dan will be truly missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. He was an incredibly faithful man who is now whole and healed with his Father. He will be forever loved and never forgotten.
