Daniel Russell Nagel went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday February 15, 2020 after a fearless battle with cancer. Daniel's foundational belief was the verse Joshua 1:9 "Be strong and courageous". This is the legacy he leaves with his family and friends.
Daniel was an avid marathon runner. He ran his race of life with integrity, kindness, bravery, and an endearing love for the Lord. He had a passion to go out into the mission field with his wife to spread the gospel. He was a dedicated 40 year employee of The Ellwood City Forge. He attended Victory Family Church in Cranberry and previously attended Champion Life Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother Norma Jean Nagel.
He is survived by his wife Darleen Nagel whom he dearly loved; two daughters Elisia (Mike) Holsinger, Elizabeth (Don) Hardisky; a stepdaughter Tonya (Mike) Huang, two stepsons Marc Lucci, Eric (Lindsay) Lucci; grandfather to six grandchildren. He is also survived by his father, Archie (Francis) Nagel; a sister Sylvia Freeman, a brother David (Tammy) Nagel; mother-in-law Ann Harris; sisters-in-law, Cheri Evans, Penny (Larry) Dolenak; an uncle whom he was very close to Charlie (Margaret) Brown, and devoted friends Brenda Bekoski and Dorothy Thomas who stood strongly with us in this difficult journey.
A special thank you to Pinnacle Hospice (Kim and Leslie) for their exceptional care of Dan.
Friends will be received Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm and Thursday from 9am until time of service at 10am in the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home, Inc., 273 Route 68 (Adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park).
