

Dorothy Marie Kolter, 84, a resident of The Reserve at Hershey Meadows, formerly of Daugherty Township, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2010 while under the compassionate care of the staff at Homeland Hospice.
Dorothy was born August 4, 1926 in Hopewell Township, daughter of the late Stephen and Susan (Rohal) Gray. She was a graduate of New Brighton High School, Class of 1944. In her early years, Dorothy and her brother Stephen became accomplished professional roller skating partners who would perform at many exhibitions. They also gave countless skating lessons. She enjoyed playing bingo, was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan, but her greatest love was her family. She felt blessed to be a wife and mother who was able to remain home and raise four wonderful children. Family gatherings would always include her great cooking.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister: Ruth Wrotney.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years: Joseph Kolter; three sons and daughters-in-law: Dr. Joseph (Rebecca) Kolter, Jr., Mt. Lebanon; Dr. James (Pamela) Kolter, Phoenixville, PA; David (Carla) Kolter, Hummelstown, PA; and her daughter: Julie Ann Kolter, Harrisburg, PA; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; her brother: Stephen Gray, Jr., Hopewell Township; and a sister: Betty Jean Gottschalk, Russell, PA.
Friends will be received Wednesday, January 5, 2011 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). A blessing service will immediately follow the visitation.
