Janet A. Oakley, age 82, of Rochester, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at her residence. Born, January 26, 1941, in Freedom, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Faye (Smith) Bosworth. Janet was an avid golfer, played in a women's league at the Lone Pine golf course in Washington and with her special friend Regina, she enjoyed going on vacations with her family, she enjoyed crocheting, crafts, and she was an avid reader. Janet was a member of Chippewa United Methodist Church for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Francis Oakley; two daughters; Heather (Eric) Brutout, and Hope Miller. Also surviving are four grandchildren; Nathan (Brittany) Johnston, Natalie (Jordan) Johnston Eaton, Haley and Andrew Miller, four great grandchildren; Brady and Nora Eaton, and Zayne and Salem Johnston.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters; Helen Shellenberger, Dolores Zeigler and Ruth Hunt, and three brothers; George, Hugh and William Bosworth.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024 from 2pm until the time of funeral services at 4pm at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to the Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum).
