John Shee

John M. Shee, age 72, of Freedom, due to complications of COVID-19, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Heritage Valley Sewickley. Born December 26, 1948, in New Sewickley Twp., he was the son of the late Michael P. and Anna (Schreiner) Shee. John was a self employed truck driver, he also liked working on vintage cars and his oldies music. John loved most of all, spending time with his family, his grandchildren and his friends. John was a caring and sentimental man, with a great sense of humor, and he had the ability to make friends with anyone he met. He was known as "the Great One".

He is survived by his wife of 43 years; Helen (Farley) Shee. Helen and John most enjoyed being with their children, grandchildren, and making memories together. Also surviving are three daughters; Lissa Hannan; Annie (Ziggy) Kugel; Lucy (Dan) Sarver; and one son Johnathan Harris, and Brian Burton, who was like a son to him. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; Patrick Hannan, Joelle Berringer, Caleb Shee, Danika Kugel, Carson and Logan Burton, Wesley, Peyton and Zoe Sarver. Also surviving are two sisters; Anne Harris and Peggy (Frank) Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and many close friends, including childhood friend Scott Hood.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his Father in Law; Alvin Farley, a nephew; Jerry Harris, a Brother-in-Law; John Farley, four grandsons; Cameron and Darien Burton, Dryver Kugel, and Michael; and two granddaughters; Hayley Hannan and Bristol Kugel.

Friends will be received on Monday from 3-8pm at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum) www.saul-gabauer.com. Private Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, followed by burial at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
