

He was born August 4, 1932 in Homestead, PA, son of the late William Edgar and Dorthy May (Rowell) Walker. He was known by family and friends as “Dick”. He retired from the Distillation Department of NOVA Chemical (formerly ARCO Polymers).
Dick was a past member of the Center Township VFD #2, Sylvan Crest; a 30 year member with Friends of Bill; the Union Local #1074; and the First Presbyterian Church of Monaca where he had served and an Elder.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as a self-taught wood worker. Dick’s greatest joy and passion in his life was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Ronald S. Walker.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years: Charlotte (Morris) Walker; three sons and daughters-in-law: Richard and Debbie Walker of Florida; Ronald and Brenda Walker, Ellwood City; Kevin and Terri Walker, Tacoma, WA; two daughters and sons-in-law: Joan and Michael Adkins, Center Township; Katherine and David Spratley, Hopewell; 22 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren; one brother: Jerry Walker of Colorado; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Barbara Haslett, Pittsburgh; Audrey (Joseph) Burchart, Crescent, PA; sister-in-law: Helen “De De” Walker, Youngstown, OH; numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful beagle: Penny.
Friends will be received Sunday, July 6, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, July 7, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (GPS 848 Sunflower Road, adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). His funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Beth Wierman, officiating. Private interment will follow in Garden of Lilies, Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
