

Alice S. Stephenson, 75, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away on October 30, 2025, after battling several health conditions. She was born in Arthur, Illinois, to Robert and Carolyn Helton on March 7, 1950. Alice graduated from Auburn High School in Rockford. Alice has worked as a housekeeper across several hotels and private residences, and she has additionally worked in construction in Texas. In earlier years, she attended State Street Baptist Church of Rockford.
Alice was extremely independent throughout her life, which led to meticulous habits and routines. Alice enjoyed cooking, especially Amish dishes and fried chicken. She loved to relax by watching a good ghost show or cop show in her favorite chair. She cherished the companionship of her dog "Tiny". Alice also had a special love for Unicorns. When the weather allowed for it, Alice loved being outside. Although she treasured her alone time, she did love spending time with her children, Carolyn and Bert, as well as her grandchildren, Jalynn, Keegan, and Aiden.
Alice is survived by her children, Carolyn Sims, Kenneth Sims Jr., and Albert "Bert" Stephenson; step-daughter, Michelle Tanner; grandchildren, Shonta Edgeston, Daniel Edgeston, Devan Edgeston, Jalynn Stephenson, Keegan Stephenson, and Aiden Stephenson; many great-grandchildren; brothers, David (Karen) Helton, Phillip (Roxanne) Helton, George (Irene) Helton, and Gordy Helton; many nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend, Leslie Martin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Carolyn; siblings, Pam, Dottie, Judy, Charles, Richard, and Debbie; her special friend Jessie Bauer; and furry-friend, Tiny.
