

An avid reader of medical text books, Andrew aspired to save lives by becoming an emergency technician. He loved being outdoors hunting, fishing, swimming, and hiking. As a child he would often act as if he was a lifeguard because he wanted to save the lives of others. Andrew was a man with a big heart and loved by many, who will be forever cherished by his family.
Survivors include his son, Liam Michael O’Rourke; parents, Greg (SaDonna) Johnson and Tricia (Michael) Sievers; brothers, Zachary Sievers, Dillon Smith, and Gregory Johnson, Jr.; sisters, Whisper Johnson, Destiny Myers, Alexzia Johnson, and Harmony Naujokas; grandparents, Velma Owens, Dave (Sue) Johnson, Betty (Bill) Weeks, Doris (Owen) Stamm, Edward (Barb) Sievers, and Charles Beardsley; great grandmother, Jackie Diverdi; uncles, David (Debra Shields) Johnson, Tim (Cindy) Whitehead, Dan (Kelly) Sievers, Chris (Shari) Sievers, Charlie Beardsley, and Tony Demarb; aunts, Ashley Johnson, Rachel Weeks, Debby (Brian) Holliman, Sheri (Jim) Willis, Carol, and Janice Whitehead; and many other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Robert Owens and John Whitehead; great grandfather, Floyd Ridlon; aunt, Michelle Demarb; uncles, Lonnie and Johnny Whitehead.
Funeral service, 10 a.m. Saturday, January 4, at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 W. State Street, Rockford with Pastor Ron Meyer officiating. Visitation 6 – 9 p.m. Friday, January 3, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family to establish a trust fund for Andrew’s son, Liam.
