In this celebration of life, few can measure the treasure we’ve lost in Barbara Frampton. Everyone she touched came away with the feeling that here was a person who truly brought together the best in humanity. Wife, mother, grandmother – a friend to all, Barb wove together a cross section of talent that bridged family, spiritual and professional accomplishment.
As a veterinarian, Dr. Barb shared a unique compassion for animals and their owners alike. “I remember”, recalled one client, “When she came out to take care of our dog in an emergency-it was Christmas Eve.” Such heartfelt sentiments were typical. She treasured her human clients as much as their animals.
4-H was a big part of her life. She spent many years serving as the leader of the Burritt Winners club and supporting the countless projects her girls participated in. Recently, she was coaching the horsebowl team to local success.
Spiritually, Barb devoted much of her time to St James parish beyond attending morning Mass and serving as a eucharistic minister. Most importantly, it was her dedication to the St Vincent De Paul Society, St James Rockford chapter, which focused her talents on helping persons most in need.
Barbara enjoyed the career she wanted, the family life she wanted and farm life with her husband on their little 5 acre farm in Winnebago that tied it all together. “She was the kind of person that when you thought of her, it would bring smiles”, said one long-time friend.
Barb leaves behind 5 daughters: Audrey Angus (Jason), Peggy Trone (Abe), Katie McDonald (Nathan), Haley Shore (David), and Leslie Archer (Derrek), all of whom enjoyed good Catholic educations- grade school through graduating at Boylan Central Catholic- and all accomplished college graduation and professional success. Thus far, there are 12 grandchildren, Owen, Jake, Evan, Alex, Merrick, Theo, Luke, Grace, Faith, Emmett, Lance and Adeline, that she’s loved dearly.
Married to Ken for 49 years, Barb’s life came to an end just 49 days from their 50th wedding Anniversary on August 3.
