

Beaulah was born on February 28, 1930, in Xenia, Illinois, to Vernie and Ada (Wooley) Jones. She attended a one-room schoolhouse through eighth grade. On June 2, 1946, Beaulah married Donald Ross Prosise in Salem, Illinois. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared memories. She spent the bulk of her life as a devoted homemaker and longtime employee at Waldom Electronics, where she worked for more than 50 years. Beaulah enjoyed pitching horseshoes, bowling, gardening, word search puzzles, drinking a cold Coca-Cola, and sharing her famous peanut butter balls with everyone she knew. She was also an avid fan of the Rockford IceHogs hockey team which surprised so many friends and family (Go 'Hogs!). Her family was always her greatest joy, and she was celebrated for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering loyalty to those she loved.
Beaulah’s faith and community were central to her life. She was deeply involved for many years with Rockford United General Baptist Ministries, where she touched the lives of many through her kindness and quiet service.
Her family was her pride and joy. Beaulah is survived by her children, Dennis (Sheila) and Randy (Holly); grandchildren, Melissa, Amy (Bill), Jason (Angie), Andrea (Jim), Peggy, Tera, Ryan (Brandy), and Gene Ray; great-grandchildren, Cierra (Kendall), Mia (Joseph), Karissa (Alex), Jasie, Lynsey (Zach), Ashlie (Doug), Blake (Brittany), Paul, Andre, Cassandra (Jake), Meagan (Aaron), Jordan, Michaela, Vanna, Shelby (Tyler), McKinley, Kayden, Jaxon, and Raiyne; and great-great-grandchildren, Karmen, Aja, Wyatt, Zoe, Delaney, Kason, LaMiyah, Joel, Ainsley, Elliott, Ariyana, Brian, Xavier, Bentley, Amelia, Everly, Brylynn, Raelyn, and Beau James. Beaulah is also survived by her sister Freda, sister-in-law Carolyn, and brother-in-law Harvey Eldon, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.
Beaulah was predeceased by her husband, along with a long list of beloved family members and in-laws, including her son Teddy Ross and daughter Donna Jean, as well as brothers Ted, Bill, and Gene; sisters Violet, Mary Alice, Jewel, and Leota; and brothers and sisters-in-law Lowell, Glen, Gerald, Melvin, Floyd (Short), Ralph (Cotton), Chuck, Don, Clarence, Margaret, Paula, Alice, Iva Maude, Barbara, Berthie, Katie, Evelyn, and Shirley. She was also predeceased by granddaughter Deanna Kaye and great-grandson Matthew.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, 7000 West State Street, Rockford, IL. The funeral service will take place on Sunday, March 29, at 2:00 PM at Rockford United General Baptist Ministries, 3126 Marshall Street, Rockford, IL, with Pastor Wayne Hodges officiating. A visitation will precede the service at 1:00 PM. Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 30, at Willwood Burial Park.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Heartland Hospice, especially Hanna and Chemere, as well as Chrissy and the many friends and caregivers who provided love and support during this difficult time. Beaulah’s warmth, humor, and steadfast faith will be missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rockford United General Baptist Ministries. The family asks that memories of Beaulah be shared with those whose lives she touched, and that her legacy of kindness and service continue to inspire all who knew her. May the good she planted in so many lives endure as a gentle, loving light in the days ahead.
