Betty B. Perez

Betty was born September 22, 1919 in Decatur, Alabama, where she met and married her first husband, Willis DuMond. They were married on August 19, 1942. Willis perished in WWII. Betty later met Richard Perez and they were married in New York on December 17, 1948.

Betty came to live in Winnebago, IL in 2005. She loved to read, enjoyed playing dominoes, painting, and spending time with her senior friends. She had a gentle southern spirit and loved spending time with her family.

Betty is survived by her sons, Charles “Chic” Perez, Willis “Bill” (Donna) DuMond, and Brian (Chris) Perez; grandchildren, Deb Perez, Michelle (Robert) Sherwood, Stefanie (Todd) Hill, Marie (Alexis) DuMond, Richard and Nicholas Perez; great grandchildren, John Erlinger, Macy and Luke Sherwood, Lindsay and Logan Hill, and Nicolette Perez; and her brother, Jack (Janette) Thomas.

A very special thank you to all the care givers at Heartland Hospice, who made her last couple of months easier for her quiet journey home.
