Betty was born on May 29, 1945 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of John and Viola Smith Thorne. Betty was a graduate Auburn High School and a fun loving, super grandmother.
Betty is survived by her sons Larry Walling of Rockford, Mark Walling of Baton Rouge, LA and Chris Watson (Annette) of Morristown, TN; grandchildren Jessica Renee Bursell, Hanna Lawnduski, Haley Watson, Jacob Watson, Kevin Watson and Derek Watson; brother Paul Thorne of Rockford; sisters Dorothy Sletten of Rockford, Shirley Statdfield of Mesa, AZ and Marilyn Blasdel (Bill) of Rockford
Betty was preceded in death by her sons Johnny L. Walling and Sheldon M. Walling.
A memorial visitation to celebrate Betty’s life will be Thursday June 19, 2014 at Advantage Funeral Home 7000 W. State St. in Rockford from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Inurnment will follow at Willwood Cemetery. Cremation rites have been accorded. Condolences may be sent to www.advantagerockford.com
