Bruce Edward Cox, 75, of Loves Park, IL. departed this earthly life on Saturday, December 23, 2017. A life long resident of Rockford. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy. Born in Chicago, IL. on October 1, 1942, to Roy and Frieda Cox. In 1967 he married Mary Opsahl and together shared 50 years while raising their family. He was a valued employee at Joseph Behr Co. where he worked for 39 years until his retirement. Bruce was a member of NorthEast Christian Church. He embraced the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and trapshooting. Bruce was most content when surrounded by his grandchildren.
Survivors: wife, Mary; children, Glenn (Michelle) Cox, Gregg (Mary) Cox, John Kruse, Mary Jane (Wayde) Mitchell, Katherine Pierce; many loving grand and great-grandchildren.
