Carolyn Winifred Wagner, 77, of Leaf River was welcomed home on Sunday, November, 18, 2018. Born May 30, 1941 in Campbell, Missouri. Daughter of Cornelias “Neil” and Cecil “Mearlean” (Hunsaker) Hubbard. United in marriage to Darrell Wagner and from this union two children completed her family. Carolyn was a longtime member of Freeport Church of Christ. She also was a mentor for children at the Leaf River Bertolet Memorial Library where she helped with reading and math. Carolyn was a modest woman who would rather put others before herself giving all she could. She found enjoyment in walking with her friends, cooking family dinners, baking birthday cakes for each family member and drinking coffee whenever she could. Her family meant everything to her and they were her greatest accomplishment of her life. She was the biggest cheerleader at all her grandsons sporting events. She loved to travel to visit with her family or friends having visitied Arizona, California, Missouri, Tennessee, Indiana and South Dakota. She also loved taking her grandsons to the local area attractions surrounding the Illinois and Wisconsin area. She would do anything she could to spoil her grandchildren.
Survived by her loving children, Jeffrey Wagner, Shelly (Richard) Williams; grandsons, Ryan (Jennifer) Williams, Reid Williams, Ross Williams, Alex (Tina Vinie) Wagner; great-grandchildren, Luxdani Williams, River Williams, Michael Wagner, Aiden Kimel, baby girl on the way; siblings, Gene (Cheryl) Hubbard, Lori Ashley; nieces and nephews and many special friends too many to list.
Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 23 at Freeport Church of Christ, 1635 S. Carroll Ave. Freeport. Visitation at 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial to follow after the Luncheon in Willwood Burial Park, Rockford.
