

Charles J. Lamb, 93, of Rockford IL, passed away May 8, 2020 after a short illness. He faithfully served his country in the United States Navy. His time in the service was spent in active duty during WWII and the Korean War on the USS Lowry DD770. He was awarded numerous medals and achievements, including the WWII Victory Medal, Area Campaign Medal, and Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal. He was also active in the local VFW 342 and a member of the Tin Can Sailors. Charles was employed at Smith Oil for 36 years and also worked for ABC Auto Parts for a number of years. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his daughter; Linda (Ray) Collins, granddaughter; Catherine Wunderlich, great grandson; Ryan Wunderlich, brothers; Gerald Lamb, Henry “Hank” (Jane) Lamb, Robert (Brenda) Lamb, Raymond (Joy) Lamb, Richard (Cindy) Lamb, and his sister; Sally Bergstrom.
He is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Alverna Lamb, brothers; Kenneth and John Lamb, as well as his sister; Alwilda Lamb. He is also predeceased by two very special ladies in his life; Paula Day, and Marlyn Lindeman.
A limited walk through visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, May 12, at 10am ending promptly at 11am at
Advantage Funeral Home 7000 W. State St. Rockford IL.
