On July 9, 2023, the world lost a kind, loving soul, when Charles Wayne "Charlie" Warner, 55, of Vass, NC, went home to be with Jesus. Charlie was born on June 19, 1968 in Rockford, IL, the son of Charles Albert Warner and Kay Frances (Erby) Warner.
He married the girl he met at 12 years old, not knowing she would someday be the love of his life, Connie Frances Greene, on December 27, 2014. Charlie was a true man of God. He loved going to church and was a member of Calvary Chapel of the Sandhills in Aberdeen, N.C.
He loved reading his bible, nature and taking walks. He planted trees in city parks and was an avid gardener. Charlie loved listening to Christian music and oldies music and loved to dance and could cut up being silly with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was well loved and well liked. He made walking sticks, canes, wooden crosses and necklaces when he could and later in life discovered a love of painting rocks with messages about the God he loved. He was a poet at heart and wrote a few books all about God and family. He would be so excited to find a new Christian movie or tv show. He loved "The Chosen" and the show "Going Home." Most of all, he loved God and his family and wanted them all to know Jesus.
Charlie is survived by his beloved father, Charles A. Warner; his loving wife, Connie; their children, David (Latoya), Amanda (Michael), and Zach; grandchildren, Mia, Leland and Brie; brother, Thomas (Laurel) Grimes; sisters, Charlene (Bill) Delventhal, Denise Strike, Nancy Vikouski, Sharon (Tom) Garrity; many nieces, nephews he adored, his church family and wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kay Warner, brother-in-law, Timothy Vikouski and loving father and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Carol Greene, sisters, Sandra Johnson and Elaine Rostron and very recently followed by his older sister, Sandy (Grimes) Darr four days later on July 13, 2023.
