Darlene Della Berger, age 76, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025. She was born June 28, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois to Harold Faitz and Lillian Sullivan. Darlene married the love of her life, Melvin Barger, on August 31, 1974 and they spent 48 wonderful years together until he passed in 2022. She worked as a paraprofessional for Rockford Public School District 205 for many years. She was a member of Lincoln Wood Baptist Church.
Darlene enjoyed going to church with her friends. She liked going to garage sales. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Darlene is survived by her children, Christy (Scot) Cederquist, Shawn Berger, and Tim (Lily) Berger; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Michael, Leah, Paxton, Logan; great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Alton, and Christopher; and sister, Nancy Rogers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Berger; stepson, Michael; and parents, Harold Faitz and Lillian Sullivan.
