He was born on April 29, 1962 in Rockford and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1980.
He was employed by Rockford Ball Screw. Dean also managed several restaurants in Rockford and Florida. He was a big fan of the Cubs, Bears, and Bulls.
He is survived by his father, Roland and his step-mother Lonna Nelson of Stillman Valley, his brother Lonnie(Jayne) Nelson of Machesney Park, sister Wendy(Matthew) Chingren of Waterloo, Iowa. He is also survived by his nieces Casey Buenzow of Ames, Iowa; Mataya Chingren also of Waterloo, Sabrina and Ciarra Nelson of Machesney Park; and many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother Barbara and his Grandparents.
We would like to thank the doctor and nurses of Serenity Hospice and Home for all of their excellent care of Dean.
A memorial service will be held on February 6, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services, located at 7000 West State Street in Rockford. Pastor Chris Brauns will be officiating. Interment will follow at Willwood Burial Park.
