

Doug was born on July 16, 1958. He attended Harlem High School.
Doug retired from UPS after over 20 years of service, marking a career characterized by commitment and perseverance.
In July of 1984, Doug married the love of his life, Alta P. Scott, in Arkansas. Their marriage spanned 41 years, filled with love and support.
Doug had a passion for disc golf, fishing, and Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He enjoyed watching races, especially at the Rockford Speedway with Poppy, and was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He will be remembered for his booming laugh, and the many stories and jokes he enjoyed telling family and friends throughout the years. Most of those friends and family referred to him by his nickname Meatball.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Alta; his sons, Nick (Desiree) Dawson, Terry Lee Scott, and Corky Dawson; and his cherished grandchildren, Cameron, Colin, Kyiden, and Kaysen. He also leaves behind his sister, Pam (Kim) Rundle, and his niece and nephew, Billy Rundle and Brittany Rundle.
Doug was preceded in death by his daughter, Magen Dawson; father, Edward D. Dawson Sr.; his mother, Carol Ann Terrell; and his step-father, Jim Terrell.
Memorials may be made to the family to cover expenses.
Doug will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his work, and his passions. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew him.
