Not a day goes by where I don’t still think about you or want to call you for help you were always there for everyone I miss you so much .. I miss hearing you always say I’m blessed today and you really meant that anyone who knew you could see it.. I know everyone misses you so much here I know your watching us from heaven but my heart still hurts I wish we could have had more time together I wish you could have met my daughter I know you would have loved her she’s spunky just like you .. I like to think you picked her just for me because you see she reminds me a lot of you .. I love you always and I’ll never forget you

Eric you are my little brother whom I miss very,very much .Even though it's  been 2yrs. now since you were taken from us.i think of you all the time .......this world definitely  lost a good one when it lost you ......your family &a-lot of people will never forget you  or ever stop loving you .....you were taken from us way to soon &it to this day still doesn't  seem right or fair.......

     Eric did handyman and carpentry work for me, in my rental building, on and off over the years.  I believe it was 2017 when I first called him on his "Humble Handyman" ad.  The first time he did some remodeling for me, not only did he do a great job, but much to my surprise, he actually cleaned up meticulously after himself without being asked.  You have to understand how rare that is in the world of handymen, and shows something of the character of the man.  
     He could do alot of different things, and do them well.  He was always honest about the work, never tried to sell me work I didn't need, or overprice it.   Always courteous and respectful.  When ever I'd say "Hi Eric, how are you?",  he would always answer "Blessed!", and said it like he meant it.  
     Fast forward to early 2021:  He is working on a vacancy for me.  He is having health problems on and off, doesn't say what.  Suddenly I have someone who needs to move in asap, and has a handicapped mother that needs a bathroom on each floor because she can't do stairs alone.  I leave a message for Eric explaining this.  Next morning (Feb.2nd), he leaves me a voice mail saying he just finished putting in the new toilet and medicine cabinet, and if he can't be there to meet me at 5:00, he will send his father and fiance, as he is on his way to emergency room now.  I can hear on the voice mail he is short of breath.  I arrive 5pm, and Peggy and Kathy are waiting for me in the van, in tears.  The rest is history.  
     Thank you Eric, for going the extra mile, and pushing yourself when you were not well.  My new tenant is safe because of you.  
     Thank you for your kindness and your excellant work.
     You always said you were "Blessed" when asked how are you.  May the Lord bless you even more now, and keep you safely in his care.

I am having such a hard time knowing your gone and I can't call you and ask for help or advice.. You were a great man and a great person always there for family even when battling your own demons . You may have had your faults who doesn't? I wish we would have had more time. I wish you would get to see my son grow up he loved you so much was always excited to see you. I will miss you your jokes your laugh . The twinkle in your eye when your excited about something. It's all these little things that make a person and you were one of the best. Enzo and I will love you always. Please watch over us ❤ 

There are many things I want to say and even more that I wish I could ask. I’m so heartbroken that I will never have the chance to speak with you and hear the truth from you alone. 
I hope that in death, you can see inside my heart and know that I always cared. 
I hope you have peace now.

My heart just weeps to learn of Erics passing. 
We meet at a dance of 30 years ago. And together we made a beautiful and awesome daughter. 
Things never go as you plan and as life does it leads us in different directions. So it did for us. 
I have thought of Eric many times over the years and i see him in the face of my daughter.  His mannerisms in her. Even her personality at times.  He sure was a charmer. 
He did good. He did have a kind heart. He was a good man. But demons can make us do things we never wanted. 
I know in another life, maybe he would have been the dad he said he'd be. 
I've never held it against him. I know those struggles. 
I just wish i could have had a couple minutes with him to say thank you for being a big part of my life if only for a short time. 
You live on in Mystic.

 that were often left unsaid.   There's many things I meant to do that were left undone instead.  So today I write these words to you with hopes that in some way you will understand just how I felt but could not find the words to say I love you Eric with all my heart baby and you are so missed RIP my sweet heart

My brother Eric was very loved&I know that he knew that always&especially with the last few days that his family had with him.He will always forever be in our thoughts&in our hearts,we all miss him very much he was a good&kind person that loved &cared about his family beyond words.

Celebration of Life Gathering

Eric is survived by his mother Judy Powers; father and step-mother John (Peggy) Powers, Sr.; brother John Powers, Jr. (Amy); 3 sisters: Stephani Powers (Keith), Rebecca (Brad) Bach and Katie Powers (Angel); step-brother Joseph Blades (Arlene); several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents.
