Eva Jean Martin

Eva Jean Martin, 65, of Lehigh Acres, FL, formerly of Rockford, IL, passed away Monday morning, May 3, 2021 after a sudden illness while traveling in Las Vegas. She was born June 2, 1955 in Lambert, Mississippi, the daughter of Clauda and Ema (Hood) Martin, Jr. Eva graduated from high school and went on to work at Clinton Electronics. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Eva loved playing bingo, traveling with her best friend and sister, Dorothy, and drinking coffee.

Eva is loved and missed by her children, Kim (Dontrell) Hannah, Jermaine Martin-Byirt, Jasmein Robinson and Tacara Robinson; three grandchildren, Dontrell Hannah, Jr., Donterrio Hannah and Ka’Mari Graham; three great-grandchildre, Dontrell Hannah III, Bryce Hannah and Zayden Hannah; siblings, Tommy Jones, Dorothy Jones, Ellen Woods, Hazel Martin, Robert Earl Martin, Ann Crawford, Shirley Martin, Harold Martin, Calvin Martin, Shawn Pobalin (Glenn); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Ann Jones, Bobby Glenn and Minnie Lee Martin.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 3108 North Central Ave, Rockford, IL 61102. A private funeral service will take place. Memorials may be directed to the family.
