Gloria Jean (Douglas) McDonald was born July 17, 1951 in Chicago, IL, to Eugene and Ida Douglas. She accepted Christ at an early age at Greater Walter’s AME Church in Chicago, IL. She joined in holy matrimony to Clifton McDonald on September 15, 2004. She leaves to cherish three sisters, Geraldine Mead, Jacqueline Douglas and Bettye Douglas, one brother, Sam Douglas and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Auntie, I will not cry, I will celebrate you. I know you are home resting peacefully. No more pain, no more suffering, just peace. The peace you have longed for so long. I will not cry as I know you are happy to be with our loved ones who have welcomed you to your heavenly home. I will not cry, you lived your life for you, and you have gained you wings you deserve, fly high angel. I will not cry; we will see you later.

A visitation for Gloria will be held Friday, August 4, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services, 7000 West State Street, Rockford, Illinois 61102, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.
Gloria will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
