Gordon R. Anderson Sr. 80, of Rockford, IL. was welcomed into heaven on Saturday, February 21, 2015. Born March 28, 1934 in Richland Co, Wi. to Arthur and Beatrice (Henery) Anderson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Delores Williams and together shared 57 years of marriage. Gordon was skilled with his hands, working as a self-employed carpenter and also in construction for Mel and Gordy’s. He enjoyed tending to his garden and flowers which brought him to his part time job at Didier’s Greenhouse where many of his family members worked also. Gordon was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He loved fishing and camping and spending time with his family.
Survivors: wife of 57 years, Delores; children, Gordon Jr. and Cindy Clay; daughter, Mary Barnes; grandchildren, Glenn Anderson and Hanna Anderson; sister Beatrice Messenger; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; grandson, LeRoy Anderson; several brothers and sisters.
