John E. Malone, 73, of Loves Park passed away Wednesday November 1, 2017 at River Bluff Nursing Home from several health issues. John was born on March 5, 1944 in Rockford, the son of Barbara and Gene Malone. He married Charlotte K. Whipkey on May 5, 1969. John graduated from West High School in 1961 and retired from Gunite Foundry where he was employed from 1962-1992. John was an avid animal lover. John is survived by his wife Charlotte; daughter Sherry (David) Brown; son Richard (Nancee) Malone; son Neal (Pattie) Devine and daughter Jean Alphin; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.The family would like to give a special thanks to Mark Millner, River Bluff Staff, Mercy Health Hospital and Hospice. Service to celebrate John’s life will be 2:00 pm Monday November 6, 2017 at Advantage Funeral Home 7000 W. State Street in Rockford; visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
