Jose M. Hernandez, 84 of Rockford passed away March 4, 2014. Born in Gonzalez, TX, he was the son of Pedro and Maria (Medina) Hernandez. In 1950 he married Cayetana Delgado in San Fernando Matamores, Mexico.
Survivors include his son, Jessie Hernandez; grandchildren, Qiana, Jarek, Kayla, and Chaz Hernandez; daughter in law, Maria Hernandez; and a special nephew, Erasmo Hernandez and his family.
Jose was predeceased by his parents, wife, son, Gilbert Hernandez, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.
Memorial service 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 W. State Street, Rockford, with Father Ricardo Hernandez officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Online condolences may be submitted at advantagerockordonline.com
