Lena M. Varcato, 93 of Rockford was welcomed into heaven on Saturday, January 7, 2017 after a long residency at Amber Wood Nursing Home. In a life well celebrated her name was synonymous in Rockford among friends and many local restaurants as a “Great Cook”. Lena especially shared her love of cooking when she prepared home made raviolis for many family reunions and holidays. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Church. Her family recalls many fond memories made at the Venetian and Verdi Clubs also Maria’s Café and Villa Venice.
Survived by children, Michael Varcato, Patricia Kobeissi, Tom Varcato and Drusilla O’Brien 11-Grand Children 12 Great Grand Children - 1 Great-Great Grand Child - Predeceased by: Parents Joseph & Olga Pegoraro – Husband: Mike Varcato –Daughter: Elizabeth Fitzpatrick Son: David Varcato and Grandson: Luke Varcato.
