Louis Alfred Myers passed away surrounded by his loved ones on November 2, 2017. Louis was born December 21,1953 in Albuquerque, NM and grew up in Mendota, IL and then on to Rockford, IL. He graduated from West High School, class of 1972. He furthered his education at Rock Valley College and graduated from Northern Illinois University. He worked for Chrysler in Belvidere and later became a stock trader. He pursued traveling having lived in Colombia , SA and voyaging the Amazon on many occasions. His hobbies included a love of marine biology, gem cutting, and nature walking. Above all, he cherished his 3 grandchildren and great-granddaughter was recognized as their greatest fan. He is remembered for his “no fuss” attitude and enjoyed the simplicity of nature. He lived his life in harmony and had a personal relationship with the Lord.
He is predeceased by his mother, Lynn Audrey Myers; Step-father, Paul Gregson Myers. He is survived by his father, Luis Clavijo; Daughters, Charity Myers and Cherise Myers; Grandchildren, Ambrielle Mercer-Myers, Evan Myers and Talia Myers and great-granddaughter, Paisley Johnson; Brothers, Linsey Myers and Greg Myers.
Graveside Services at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8 at Willwood Burial Park, 7000 West State St, Rockford.
