Margaret was born on September 27, 1925 in Rockford, the daughter of Owen A. and Luella B. (Fairchild) Youngblood. Margaret married Dale Thomas Barber on November 28, 1951 in Belgrade, MO, and he preceded her in death on February 5, 1989. Margaret was a member of the Moose Club and Teamster Local 325 retirees. She loved playing music on the piano and organ; she played for all the ritual work in Rockford and the State Conventions for the Moose. She loved doing crossword puzzles, traveling and going to the dog races with family and friends. Margaret’s favorite TV shows were Law and Order and watching Wheel of Fortune with her friend Gayle George.
Margaret is survived by her dear friend Delores Fenn; niece Carolyn (Gerald) Hyland and great-niece RaeAnne (Ryan) Yat.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice.
A service to celebrate Margaret’s life will be 11:00 a.m. Monday September 21, 2015 at Advantage Funeral Home 7000 W. State St in Rockford. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Willwood Cemetery.
