Nellie Marie (nee Stewart) Ward, 91, of Rockford, Illinois went to be with our Lord on Monday, March 8, 2021. Nellie was born in Rockford, Illinois on January 25, 1930 to Elmer S. and Elma M. (nee Townsend) Stewart. She enjoyed her family and was known for her many sewing and crochet creations she made for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Nellie is survived by her sons, Daniel S. (Denise) and Randy J. (Tammy) Ward; daughters Susan A. (Timothy) Oberg and Carolyn L. (James) Runge; eleven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; husband, David S. Ward; sister, Doris Foster; son-in-law, James Runge; grandson, Andrew J. Ward; great grandson, Kyle David Emmel.
A Walk Through Visitation will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 from 9am until the time of Service at 10am at Advantage Funeral Home (7000 W. State St, Rockford, IL 61102).Interment to follow in Willwood Burial Park (7000 W. State St, Rockford, IL 61102).
