Patricia A. DeMond

Patricia A. DeMond, 77, of Rockford passed away September 16, 2014, surrounded by her family. Born January 21, 1937, in Freeport; she was the daughter of Robert and Cleone (Thoman) Quies. She married Gerald DeMond on February 14, 1955, in Rockford.

She retired from Amerock Corporation after 37 years of employment. Paticia volunteered for River Bluff Auxiliary and was a member of Women of the Church of God Auxiliary.

Patricia received her salvation at the First Church of God and served as the first lady while her husband pastored at Halsted Road Baptist.

Active in church and community, she was concerned about everyone and had a big heart with a warm smile for all. Pat enjoyed baking cookies and preparing special meals for those she loved.

She is lovingly survived and dearly missed by her husband of 59 years, Gerald DeMond; children, Gary (Donna) DeMond, Pam (Jim) Eichenberger, and Kelly (David) Seymour; grandchildren, Drew (Jessica) DeMond, Hunter and Hannah Eichenberger, Michael and Sarah Seymour; great-grandchildren, Jamie and Jordan DeMond; brother, Rodney (Pat) Quies; sisters, Marilyn Schmerse and Vickie (Rob) Grondzki.

She was predeceased by her parents, brother, Robert; and sister, Lucille.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Johnette Sexton and the staff of River Bluff Nursing Home for the comfort and care given to Patricia.

Funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday, September 20, at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 W. State Street, Rockford; with Pastor Clarence Christiansen officiating. Visitation one hour prior to service. Interment in Willwood Burial Park. Online condolences may be submitted at advantagerockford.com
