Phyllis E. Scott 84, of Rockford passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021 in her home surrounded by family. Born June 30, 1936 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the daughter of Iron T. and Dolly May (Stone) Hanks. Employed by Valspar painting for many years, retiring in 1999. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing bingo, loved spending time with family and bird watching. Survivors include her children, Stephen Scott of Rockford, Dawn (Tony) Hendrix of Colorado, Kevin (Martha) Scott of Pheonix and Chuck Scott of Rockford; grandchildren, Kristal (Jacob) Reninger, Tanya (Eric Ames) Scott, James (Elizabeth) Houston, Josephina Hendrix, Miles Scott and Matthew Scott, Thalia McMasters, Natalie Scott, Jes (Devon) Poteet; several great- grandchildren; as well as step children, Donald (Sheryl) Debra, Ronald (Deb), Peggy, David, and John.
Predeceased by her parents; brother Lloyd, sisters, Frances, Gladys, Pearl and Edith; loving pets, Betz and Bandit. Special thanks to Northern Illinois Hospice for their transition to bring mom home.
As per her request, no services. Inurnment in Willwood Burial Park. In lieu of flowers any memorial contributions will go towards a park bench.
