Samuel Martin Opsahl, 71, of Rockford, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, November 28, 2016. Born December 9, 1944, in Rockford; son of Donald and Mildred (Ohlin) Opsahl. Worked in different positions at various places, having retired from Keith Country Day. Samuel loved his Lord and enjoyed reading the Bible. His favorite pastime was going for coffee and pie to socialize with his lifelong friends.
Survived by his children, Timothy (Winona) Opsahl, Theodore (Martha) Opsahl, Tammie (Christopher) Bandera; sister, Mary (Bruce) Cox; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and son, Thomas Opsahl.
Funeral services at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 3, at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 West State St, Rockford, with visitation from 1 p.m. until time of service. Burial following in Willwood Burial Park.
