Shirley Anne Novay-Ryman

Shirley A. Novay-Ryman, 85, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at River Bluff Care Center in Rockford. She was born January 6, 1936 in Memphis, TN, the daughter of Marvin and Thelma (Swift) Siler. Shirley graduated from Treadwell High School in Memphis, TN. She was employed by Taylor and Company and retired from Winnebago County Human Resources. She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, Roscoe, IL chapter. Shirley was a volunteer for the “On the Waterfront Festival” for many years.

Shirley is survived by her son, John M. Novay of Machesney Park, IL; her daughter, Tamara A. (Greg) Stone of Rockton, IL; grandchildren, Heather (Chris) Holte of Machesney Park, IL, Briannah Novay of Phoenix, AZ, Christopher (Kristen) Stone of Janesville, WI and Jason (Eryn) Stone of Marion, IA; great-grandchildren, Alaina, Ella and Owen Holte, Cameron, Brayden and Owen Stone, Harper and Autumn Stone. She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Ian Novay of Dixon, IL.

A private family service will take place. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association in Shirley’s name, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202
