He was born March 24, 1932 in Rockford, IL the son of Luella Buggs, he served his country in the United states Army. After returning he owned his own business as an agent for the Smith Oil Corporation he also married his wife of many years Joyce, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his Mother Luella Buggs.
Wayne is survived by his children Sidney (Rhonda) Hughes, Rodney Hughes, Mitzi (Larry) Wallace, Wayne LeRoy Hughes Jr and Mark (Liz) Hughes, his grandchildrem; Shawn (Ginger) Hughes, Jerry Sears, Shana Hughes, Sheri (Steve) Cook and Angel (Arthur) Campbell, Great Grandchilden; Zach Lindblom, CJ Poirier and Madison Cook, two brothers; James (Joanne) and Jerome (Janice) Hughes. Also surviving are his many special friends; Tom Cassidy, Herbie (Peggy) Johnson, Miles (TediAnne) Kinnear, Chuck (Cathy) Mosbeck and all his friends of the Old Still. And his Beloved dog Zelda Mae.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday January 27, 2012 from 4:00pm – 6:00pm at Advantage Funeral and cremation Services at 7000 West State St. Rockford, IL 61102. Cremation rites will be accorded.
