

Lewiston, ME - It is with great sadness that we have to announce the unexpected passing of Hortense "Connie" Elizabeth (Reed) Blanchard, on January 31, 2026 at Central Maine Medical Center with her family by her side. She was 90 years old.
She was born June 10, 1935 to Myrtle Bean and David Reed in Wiscasset, ME.
Connie attended Wiscasset schools and did a few odd jobs such as waitressing in her younger years.
She then married William Blanchard on September 7th, 1957 and then became a homemaker having 12 children.
She is predeceased by her parents Myrtle and David, brother Arthur Reed, sister Josephine Reed, her daughter Judy Blanchard, and a son Jeffrey, Also her beloved granddaughter Kelly Blanchard.
She is survived by her children Don Brewer, Billy Blanchard, Sandra Laverdiere, Kathy Blanchard, Teddy Blanchard and his wife Lisa, Joey Blanchard and wife Charlotte, Jimmy Blanchard, Timmy and his wife Lori Gallant ,Della and husband Joe Richard, Kenny Blanchard and his wife Makayla. She also leaves 19 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
She absolutely enjoyed traveling and eating at restaurants all over Maine especially on the coast!! She loved her seafood! She made the best beans ever!!, and the best meat pies you've ever tasted!
She enjoyed going camping, she enjoyed fishing and raking blueberries in her younger years.
She loved to cook and she loved to feed people even if she didn't know you, she would feed you more.
Nana loved to go lawn sailing she loved to have family gatherings and cookouts were her favorite, She made sure you were full when you left her table LOL
She had an ear for listening whenever you needed her. she was an amazing and proud lady and she surely wasn't afraid to give you a great big smooch and little pinch on the cheek and a nice warm hug.
She dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren and kept going until she was almost 91 years old.
We love you and we will surely miss you!!
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Service for Connie at the American Legion Hall, 184 Congress Street, Rumford at 3 pm on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
