She was born in Quebec Canada on September 20, 1922 one of seven children of Ernest and Marie (Thibault) Pellerin.
Before her marriage to Henry P. Pellerin on July 7, 1948, she worked as a nanny for neighborhood families in Canada, moving their family to the United States in 1952.
Rita was a communicant of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church and she enjoyed knitting and gardening.
She lived a long and healthy life until her stroke in 2014.
Surviving are her children; M. Louise Eshleman and husband James E. of Norway, Colette Pellerin of Gloucester, MA, Jacques Pellerin and wife Tina of Byron, Suzanne Gallant and husband Robert of Mentor, Ohio, J. Gerard Pellerin of Mexico, Normand Pellerin and wife Wendy of Clinton, MS, and Francine Batchelder of Portland, ME; a sister Madeline Pellerin of Quebec, Canada; 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband Henry, two brothers, Arthur and Antonin Pellerin, and three sisters, Germaine Moreau, Margaret Castonguay and Yvonne Marchand.
