

He was born January 16, 1926 the son of William and Catherine McKenna MacDougall.
He was a lifelong resident of Rumford. He attended local schools and was with the class of 1945 at Stephens High School.
During World War II he served with Merchant Marines.
For over forty and a third years he worked for the paper mill here in Rumford. He enjoyed all sports, especially playing baseball in his younger years. Bill liked country music and playing his Martin guitar with his friends. Bills’ playing the guitar was much the same as the late Hawkshaw Hawkins and Dick Cureless, his two country idols. He also loved his three dogs, Toby, Twinkie and Tara.
Bill was a member of the American Legion and a communicant of St. Athanasius and St. John Church.
He married his lovely wife Constance Libby on April 24, 1947. Together they celebrated 63 years of marriage.
They have one daughter Linda married to Dennis Frey of Swansville, ME; and one granddaughter Heather Frey and soul mate Mark Frost of Prospect, ME, and their daughter Lily Frost.
Other survivors are two sisters, Rita DesRoches of Bethesda, MD., and Barbara Houck of Silver Springs, MD., and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one brother, James, three sisters, Frances Gagnon of Rumford, ME., Bernetta Nally of Lanham, MD., and Evelyn Potter of Roanoke, VA.
