

Rev. Charles Austin Donophan, 81, of Salisbury died Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Salisbury Nursing Home. Born in Frederica, DE, he was the son of the late John Lewis Donophan and Geneva Austin Donophan. Rev. Donophan was a United States Navy Veteran having served in the Korean War. Rev. Donophan graduated with a Masters Degree from the University of Delaware and attended seminary at Eastern Theological Seminary. He served 40 years with the Peninsula Methodist Conference and the Baltimore/ Washington Methodist Conference. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Paula Meland Donophan; children, Mark Donophan and his wife Melanie, Laurie Donophan, and Tom Adkins and his wife Sue; daughter-in-law, Peggy Donophan; grandchildren, John Donophan, Andrew Donophan, Hope Donophan, Sarah Koermer, Kristina Wood and her husband James, Ashley Donophan, Leslie Adkins, Thomas Adkins, Betsie Cottrell, Amanda Adkins, Emily Adkins; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Walter Donophan and his wife Arlene and James Donophan and his wife Janice; sister, Ruth Lee Bartlett and her husband Dewayne; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two children, B. Jay Donophan and Scot Donophan.
