Glendon Elton Vance, 90, of Norristown, PA passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Harrison House in Snow Hill, MD. Born July 17, 1930 in St. Johnsbury, Vermont he was the son of the late Olin Franklin Vance and Lucy Bigelow Vance.
Glendon graduated from the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in 1952 and was an avid sports fan who enjoyed playing many sports during high school. He worked as a pressman for over 40 years for the National Label Company in Lafayette Hill, PA. Glendon's favorite pastime was putting jigsaw puzzles together and spending time with his family.
He is survived by three children, Carol R. Dittmar and her husband Jack, Donna L. Kaylor and her husband Jim, and Jeffrey G. Vance and his wife Susan; ten grandchildren, Tyler, Stephanie, Jacob, Sarah, Heather, Zachary, Hannah, Ryan, Brandon, and Kyle; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Marion Marie Vance; three brothers, Wendell, Calvin, and Lyle Vance; and sister, Velma Vance.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 11am at Faith Church of Worcester, 1341 Quarry Hall Rd., Eagleville, PA 19403 with a visitation from 10:00am-11:00am. Rev. Sam Seymour will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Glendon to Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, 100 West School House Lane, Philadelphia, PA 19144-3404.
